The NEW Smarty Junior was designed for the customer who wants reliable and safe power for both the engine and the transmission combined with good fuel mileage, low EGT's and smoke. Typical exhaust gas temperatures average 200°F cooler than with a stock OEM programming. Under normal driving conditions Smarty Junior can be used without the need for gauges even when towing heavy loads up to the CGVW rating.

MADS Smarty Technology:

The MADS tuning software for the Smarty Jr. is called CaTCHER software. The MADS original products were EPROMs and Flash-EPROMs which could be installed in place of the original OEM EPROMs and Flash-EPROMs located in the vehicle’s on-board control module. These chips, just like the tuners of today, keep the entire vehicle safety and emissions systems intact, but modify the fuel injection settings to deliver dramatic power, torque and driveability improvements. However, today, with the advent of OBD-II vehicle control module in the early 1990’s, most domestic vehicle manufacturers installed under-dash ports (“ALDL ports”) which allowed dealers and service techs to “re-flash” the vehicle control module to change engine settings without replacing any chip. Hence, MADS created the easy to use Smarty programmer!
