The Smarty programmer installs easily with a simple cable connection to your AHDL port under the dash. It is easy to access, plug in and out, and the programmer has step by step instructions. SmartyCR is the FIRST AND ONLY downloader that does not erase any of the stored data in the ECM. Smarty does NOT leave any electronic footprints in the ECM or any other electronic module in the truck. Smarty does NOT set ANY codes once the ECM is set back to stock. Introducing Smarty Junior, designed for the customer who wants reliable and safe power for both the engine and the transmission combined with good fuel mileage, low EGT and smoke. Typical exhaust gas temperatures average 200°F cooler than with stock OEM programming. Under normal driving conditions Smarty Junior can be used without the need for gauges even when towing heavy loads up to the CGVW rating.

MADS Smarty Technology:
The MADS tuning software is called CaTCHER software. The MADS Smarty keeps the entire vehicle safety and emissions systems intact, but modifies the fuel injection settings to deliver dramatic power, torque and driveability improvements without replacing any chip.
Fuel consumption is a very valuable feature of MADS company research with its Smarty programmer. The CaTCHER software can be used to reduce fuel consumption up to 15% depending on the driving conditions, saving money and reducing the vehicle emissions at the same time.
The Basic software program has 10 different performance settings available on the Smarty, to achieve performance improvements of 75HP to 170Hp depending on vehicle and other upgrades to your truck!
Horsepower Settings:
(All of the levels, except #0, have a modified "Torque management" ( TQM ). The throttle response is greatly improved but is set to a safe limit for your tranny and rest of the driveline)
- SW # 0 : Half power
- SW # 1 : 30 Hp increase, with added timing.
- SW # 2 : 60 Hp increase, no added timing.
- SW # 3 : 60 Hp increase, with added timing.
- SW # 4 : 90 Hp increase, no added timing.
- SW # 5 : 90 Hp increase, with added timing.
- SW # 6 : 130 Hp increase, no added timing.
- SW # 7 : 130 Hp increase, with added timing.
- SW # 8 : 170 Hp increase, no added timing.***
- SW # 9 : 170 Hp increase, with added timing.***
*** 170 Hp Only for the 04.5's and up.
Notes:
- Tested on Stock Trucks
- SW's # 8 & #9 for the 03-04 trucks are similar to #6 and #7 but have more fuel down low and even less TQM.
- The 03 produced 130 Hp more @ 30 Psi of boost while the 04.5 produced 170 Hp more @ 40! Psi.
- The above declared HP numbers are all rounded down to the closest number.
- DTC Code reader. The name says it all. You can read and erase codes. Codes are displayed also in plain English. That's old news by now. The VP Smarty is the first programmer to provide the DTC Code utility. ( Smarty does erase ABS codes too but does not display them )
